Daryl was restless. He felt trapped behind these walls and he couldn't help but feel like a caged animal. He had been walking along the Alexandria walls for a while, checking it for weak spots. Deanna had assigned him the recruiting job with Aaron, but they had yet to go outside the walls together. Daryl had been working on the bike non-stop since Aaron show it to him and made the recruiting offer. He wanted that bike fixed and ready to go in the next couple of days. The sooner the bike was ready the sooner Daryl would be able to get away from this place. Alexandria looked like a good place for Rick and his kids. They needed this place. Maggie and Glenn could have a home and a family.
Maggie and Glenn would have a baby...
The others would have something to fight for. Daryl wasn't sure what Carol's game plan was with the Susie Homemaker look but she would be fine. She was always fine. Alexandria had nothing to offer to Daryl but ideas and dreams he never truly wanted. Not until that damn girl made a home under his skin and she was gone and he was just here, surviving.
He needed the bike done and the recruiting run to happen or he would snap at someone...again. It wasn't long ago he beat one of Deanna's sons near the main gate. That was bound to happen again if he wasn't careful and stayed away from most of these people. With a heavy sigh, Daryl tossed his cigarette on the ground and stepped on it as he continued along the wall. The main gate was visible now.
Daryl had worked on the bike in Aaron's garage for most of the day but once the sun began to set he stopped and headed out. He had to give Aaron and Eric their privacy back. Fixing a motorcycle wasn't exactly quiet and the two men deserved their time together to be peaceful. Daryl didn't go home after Aaron and began to check the walls.
Stopping at the main gate, Daryl grunted a greeting at the person on watch and signaled them to open the gate. He was just going to step out for a moment and try to catch dinner before it was too dark to see.
