We all know Rick to be the protective leader that he is. He looks out for the family that he has, and that is his group that he is with. He will fight for them till the end because they are the ones that matter to him. Currently, he and his group are in Alexandria where he defends those who live there as well. He is protective, strict and loyal. He does what he believes is the right thing.
He has his family, and he will be there to defend them and keep them safe.
Everyone has enemies and those who try and cross Rick becomes those very quickly.
He hasn't had time to think about anyone to be with romantically.

Jason Stone
Jason was in Buffalo when everything happened, and he was with his fiancé Heather. They ha a choice, try and figure out what was going on, or go back to Grand Rapids, Michigan to see if Heather's younger sister Elle was okay. They chose the second option because they thought it would be better to find any family they had. Jason's family was back in North Carolina, and they were supposed to go there after, but they needed to plan it and needed to be smart about it.
Heather was killed during the travels so he doesn't have any family alive that he knows of, although he hopes for his sister and father to be alive. His family is the two people who have stuck with him throughout the travels, Travis and Samantha.
Anyone who threatens his family is an enemy to him.
He doesn't think about a love life, not in the messed up world he lives in, and not after the loss of Heather.
