Minerva McGonagall is dead. The Minister's wife and senior undersecretary have been murdered. Is the Ministry losing control?
Eighteen years have passed after the Battle of Hogwarts, and the Ministry has taken every chance to make conditions for the Death Eaters worse and worse. Most were sent not to Azkaban, but to a work camp, with inhumane conditions that has caused deaths in the passing months just due to the heat, the strain, and some overzealous guards. The treatment of even innocent purebloods have been getting worse by the day as well, with attacks on them becoming more common by radicals that think them to be just as guilty as Death Eaters. A recent attack on Diagon Alley has left Flourish and Blotts in ruins, dozens dead, more injured, and Minerva McGonagall was amongst those numbers. What is clearer now than ever was that the Minister's agenda might be causing war to break out sooner rather than later.
